Merci restaurant

Merci is one concept store to see in Paris. Founded in 2009 by Bernard and Marie France Cohen, Merci is a commercial enterprise « like the others » founded by shareholders « not like the others ». The proceeds of this investment serve to fund an endowment to pay for educational projects and development in south-west Madagascar.

Therefore MERCI means thank you to life, thank you to the talents, the designers, and the customers who made this success and their generosity possible.

Lately I discovered that MERCI has also has a lovely café and restaurant that serve some delicious gluten free food. I was very happy indeed to go there and try it.

As a starter I took a trio salads made of quinoa with herbs, raw red and white cabbage, green beans with peperoni. Very tasty, fresh and crunchy. I chose the daily juice made of celery, lemon, cucumber, green apple. I loved it.

My main course was a delicious risotto with fennel, lemon and ricotta cheese.

After there was a scrumptious gluten free « fondant au chocolat » aka chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache…I was so tempted…If it wasn’t that hot outside, I would have eaten it for sure!

After my lunch I wandered inside the store: they have one of the nicest selections of households and designer pieces. It is so inspiring: the forms, the colors, the textures, each object looks attractive and not only because of its function and utility but at Merci, they are just beautiful to be seen, to be touched, smelled, and enjoyed. I hope that the gluten free choices on their menu will continue to grow. Merci!
