La Guinguette d’Angèle take away

In French « la guinguette » refers to an open-air café where you can eat, drink and in the past also dance. Today la Guinguette d’Angèle in Paris is a detox, organic and gluten free catering.

My personal experience to La Guinguette d’Angèle has been like stepping into a luxuriant garden full of fresh herbs and wild flowers, where fruit and vegetables grow according to the seasons, and the sun is always shining thanks to a fairy princess named Angèle.

In Paris 1st arrondissement Angèle, who is specialised in gluten free catering, recently opened a guinguette where you can take away and bring home or to the office her very special, colourful and delicious gluten free food.

I went there twice this week. I had her tasty gluten free granola (I admit it, I do have a serious addiction to home-made crunchy granola !!) with soya cream, apricot and peaches compote and fresh raisins. The daily juice was a nice mix of passion fruit, papaya and apricot.

I also tried the menu: every day you can choose between a vegan and a gourmand option. Included one main course, a tart or a cookie or a verrine, and fresh juice.

Mine was the gourmand gluten free menu with roast beef + miso and mustard sauce, lentils and quinoa, pumpkin, toasted almonds and candied eggplants. It was delicious !

The juice du jour was cucumber, celery and lemon, super refreshing and perfect for the hot summer temperature of these days.

The dessert I chose was a divine gluten free cheese cake with a crunchy biscuit and that nice little flower that made it so beautiful to see and so good to eat.

The thing about La Guinguette d’Angèle is that once you are in, you don’t want to get out ! Everything is made with so much care and love that you can feel being pampered and relaxed.
