This pizza with bufala mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil was one of the best ever and as a gal from Naples I know what I am talking about 😉
You can enjoy it every day at Il Ristorante Del Pino, in Cercola, not far from Naples. Del Pino restaurant, they tell me, has been the first restaurant in the region of Campania to start making gluten free pizzas 30 years ago and today they attained excellent results: my family that eats gluten on a regular basis had the gluten free free pizza with me and loved it too.
We also tasted one pizza with fresh ham, arugula and parmesan flakes and another with salsiccia (sausages) and « friarielli » which is a typical kind of broccoli from the South of Italy that you can find during winter. They were both delish !
Every food experience that I make is fully enjoyed with all the senses: the way and the time that it takes to get to that particular place, it’s part of the adventure and of the pleasure to experience something new.
This is the Mount Somma, view from our car.
You can really enjoy the ride to Cercola: it is enchanting.
The Mount Somma is part of the Vesuvio volcano, actually it was ‘the’ volcano that exploded in 79 A.D. destroying both Pompei and Ercolano; what we see today it’s what is left of that explosion.
I was born looking at the Vesuvio and its bay: it is intensely beautiful and startling at the same time. To me it is one of the most amazing places to visit in the world, I cherish it and I’ll always do.
