Blün take away restaurant

Yesterday I went to Blün, a newly opened take away restaurant in Paris that is specialised in galettes and crêpes.

Mickaël and his brother Nicolas has been working in the food business for quite a while and then, one day, they decided to launch their own restaurant and start a new adventure together.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to discover that many gluten free options are on the menu, including a yummy selection of both savoury galettes and sweet crêpes!

Mickaël told me that they have many friends who are intolerant or sensitive to gluten, and they decided to create a place that could welcome everybody: gluten eaters and not!

It was not easy for me to make a choice as everything looked so tempting  but in the end I went for the Blün chaud (hot) that is a galette made of buckwheat flour, rolled like a wrap and cut in two pieces. I chose the vegetarian one with a delicious mix of vegetables + salad + vinaigrette. It was very good!

My dessert of the day was a gluten free crêpes with rice flour and a home-made vanilla apple compote. It was delicious!

Next time I know I will go for the Nocciolata that is one fantastic organic gluten free hazelnut spread that I know very well already :).

I liked the design at Blün : very light, simple but with cares for details, natural but with a twist here and there, I would say.

Mickaël told me that the word Blün is German one to indicate a nuance of blue. The one they choose to decorate the restaurant. At the same time it is a name that is easy to remember and it sounds kind of cheerful to me.

Blün is also available to create private events: celebrate one special occasion with some very special and yummy French food that can be also gluten free!
