Who’s Freiknuspern?

Today we get to know Fabienne founder of the German blog Freiknuspern specialised in yummy recipes to satisfy the taste and the needs of all of us living with food allergies and intolerances around the world. Freiknuspern is one of the blogs that I love and I am very happy to interview Fabienne, one passionate and talented young woman.

Chiara: Why gluten free?

Fabienne: I am suffering from allergic asthma and food allergies. I am not only sensitive to gluten, wheat and cow-milk products, but I have also been allergic to figs, celery, sesame and paprika for about three years.

Chiara: What is Freiknuspern?

Fabienne: Freiknuspern is a food-blog which focuses on topics such as food intolerances and allergies. I have founded the blog to support affected people during their daily life with food allergies. I passionately create a variety of yummy recipes to show them the possibilities on how tasty allergy-free food can be. On my blog I publish baking and cooking recipes that are, among other things, gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free, egg-free and free of lactose.

Also many of my recipes are vegan or free of fructose.

In addition, you can find product recommendations, daily reports or private updates on how I handle my life with allergies.

Chiara: What is the gluten free food that you love the most?

Fabienne: Good question… I think one of my favourite gluten-free recipes is my homemade “Pick Up”. Basically it is a cookie snack with a dark chocolate filling from the German company Bahlsen. I loved it so much and then one day I started to suffer from allergic asthma and I couldn’t eat it anymore. So I decided to create my own version of this delicious snack. My homemade “Pick Up” is made of crispy cookies and handcrafted chocolate. The full recipe is gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free, vegan, dairy-free and free of lactose … and of course yummy!

Chiara: Gluten free is…

Fabienne: Diversified! It provides a variety of possibilities and encourages my creativity. Being on a gluten-free diet has made me learn a lot about new and alternative products. Many of them are really extraordinary and provide an absolutely unique taste.

Chiara: What is your next challenge?

Fabienne:  I would like to develop a delicious recipe for a gluten-free pizza. I have been working on this recipe for some time now. Next year I want to publish it on “freiknuspern”. Now I am getting ready for Christmas. Therefore I am creating a lot of gluten-free Christmas cookies and some proposals for the Christmas dinner.
