Today we get to know Due Amiche in cucina a bit better. Due Amiche in cucina is one Italian blog that I love. I was happy to chat over the phone to Miria Onesta, cook and founder, and to discover her passion for gluten free, authentic products, Nature and great Italian food! Here she answers to my questions.
Chiara: Why gluten free?
Miria: I started to take part to some events and contests like the gluten free (fri)day sponsored and organised by the Italian blog gluten free travel and living. Then I thought that if one day I happen to have a guest at my table that can’t eat gluten, I would love to be prepared and be able to cook a good gluten free meal for him/her and for everybody.
Cooking gluten free has given me the chance to discover fantastic new ingredients like carob flour for example that taste like chocolate, I love it! By learning how to cook gluten free, I have realised by myself that actually it can be as good as gluten can be. I love experimenting and I don’t use flour mix, I make my own.
Today I can say that I cook gluten free because I just like it.
Chiara: What is Due Amiche in cucina?
Miria: I started cooking when I got married, for my husband and my family. Then one day I created this blog – it’s been 4 years now – and it has become my passion. I called it “Due amiche in cucina” (two friends in the kitchen) because I wanted to work with a dear friend of mine but that turned out not possible so since then, it’s about me.
Chiara: What is the gluten free food that you love the most?
Miria: I love my gluten free chocolate chips cookies with orange zest.
Chiara: Gluten free is…
Miria: To me there is no difference with gluten. I just don’t see it. Every time I make and succeed a gluten free recipe, I don’t see any difference in taste as if it were with gluten. It is just very good.
