This week I was again in Venice for work, and I was in a sudden SOS pizza moment. I am a gal from Naples and pizza is basically in my DNA, I cannot stay away from it for too long! I remembered that the Tintoretto restaurant makes also gluten free pizza so I decided to go to Fondamenta della Misericordia – one of my favorite spot in Venice – and try it.
The pizza dough could have been way better. When it comes down to pizza, I am demanding. But the ingredients were super fresh and very tasty. I took a mix of grilled vegetables with eggplants, zucchini, peperoni, delicious peeled tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. It was good.
Last time I was there I tried their gluten free pasta and took a delicious spaghetti with sea food. This time the battle gluten free pizza versus gluten free pasta… well, pasta wins.
Speaking of Tintoretto, if you are in Venice and haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you go to Santa Maria della Salute: in this church, among the greatest Venetian painters, there is also Tintoretto, the “Nozze di Cana” painting – it is outstanding!
