The Green Spot in Barcelona is a vegetarian restaurant, with many vegan and gluten free options on the menu, that literarily stole my heart…!
The Green Spot concept and idea comes from the creative business mind of Tomás Tarruella, founder of COMPAÑÍA DE LOBOS and co-founder of the brand GRUPO TRAGALUZ.
Tomás is owner of many restaurants in Barcelona, Madrid and Mallorca, each one embodying a unique vision and a real passion for great tasting food.
I went to the Green Spot with my good friend Alina from the beautiful blog Green Mama. Alina is a talented recipe developer and food photographer and I was so happy to discover this place with her!
We had some great girls’ time and enjoyed some of the best gluten free, vegan food that I have ever tasted!
We shared all the dishes: first thing first, our entré was made of roasted topinambour, pumpkin, avocado foam and vegan parmigiano, so good! Loved the different consistencies and textures of this dish!
Then we tasted their 100% gluten free, vegan buckwheat pizza, with kale pesto, tomatoes, one fantastic vegan cashew cheese, pumpkin sausage and lotus root – all natural, all so good.
Our salad was came with Assorted tomatoes, artichoke, vegan cheese with klamath, roasted cranberries, croutons with lemon, basil vinaigrette, and the best vegan cheese with klamath of my life.
And then, of course, we tasted a dessert and opted for the Vegan “Coca” made of the vegan gluten free buckwheat pizza as base, topped with peanut caramel butter, roasted banana, dark chocolate and coconut cream. So delicious. Full stop.
Alina took a oat milk cappuccino made with the café Magnifico, a coffee staple in Barcelona, and I had the best ever pink latte. Naturally sweet and gently spiced, it was pure perfection!
The design of the Green Spot is absolutely stunning.
This is definitely a place you don’t want to miss if you come to Barcelona.
