Soya is one place to go in Paris if you are aiming at a good vegetarian meal. Besides they have many options on the menu that are also vegan and gluten free. When I went, all of their desserts were gluten free. I felt smitten.

As main dish I took the “grand mezze”: marinated tofu, a fantastic combination of grilled and fresh vegetables, sweet potatoes, to dip in eggplant caviar with pesto sauce, humous with almonds – delicious – and a to-die-for beetroot caviar with Umeboshi.

As dessert, my choice was obvious: the pear + almonds crumble. I love, love, love crumbles. This one was vegan as well and it came with a very good soya cream.
There is yet something else that I like about Soya restaurant: its atmosphere. Soya is laid-back, cosy, Parisian urban chic but still friendly and chatty. It is niched in Paris 10e: a very nice and lively neighborhood, close to the beautiful Canal St Martin and a walk away from the trendy Marais.
