Here I am in Bordeaux with a dear friend Alexandra from Passion du Pain: she invited me for the Easter weekend to spend some time together and discover her hometown. I am thrilled and happy at the same time. It is my first time here! Bordeaux is utterly beautiful and even more than I could have seen in photos or expected. Today we are heading to Alexandra’s favorite vegetarian and vegan restaurant: Rest’o. Everything is gluten free, except for the lasagne. At Rest’o we met with Slimen et Akané, the couple who created this place. They got to know each other while working at Soya restaurant in Paris and once day they decided to move to Bordeaux and open the restaurant of their dreams together.

At Rest’o all the ingredients are organic, local and top quality. Everything is and home-made everyday according to the seasons and the chefs’ creativity.

Our choice was the “Délicieux Zukki”, a pure symphony of different flavours and textures that were like playing on my dish: vegetables caviars, shitake mushrooms, butternut flan with dried tomatoes and pumpkin seeds, cannelloni of cashew with zucchini, mushrooms, and onions, the original “Soyafel” with houmous. Everything was so good !

Alexandra reminded me the importance of slowly taste and fully enjoy each bite – so true and so right ! During my everyday ‘hectic’ life I forget to do it basically…all the time ! By doing it, I start to re-center on myelf in a good way, to be in the present moment and to be able to appreciate it. I feel so grateful and happy for this lesson today.

Akané is in charge of all the desserts at Rest’o, they are all gluten free and uttterly delicious. This is really a place that I recommend if you are in the mood to relax, spend a nice moment and eat great « good for you » food made with love. These are Slimen and Akané. Thank you!
