Pollio is one of the best pastry and ice-cream shops in Sorrento, my hometown. I am back here to spend the Christmas holidays with my family and yesterday I decided to take a morning walk in Sorrento as the sun was shining and the sky was deep blue… just impossible to resist!! For those of you who are suffering from the celiac disease as I am, you know that when you travel, depending on where you go, it is still a real challenge to find a place to have a simple yet yummy breakfast. I went to Pollio and I was very happy to find out that I could have one nice breakfast!! The cappuccino was perfect and I ate a typical almond and chocolate cake that is naturally gluten free and incredibly good: the caprese. Its name come from the isle of Capri, it is “the” cake to eat if you come around here 😉


What made me even happier is to know that at Pollio you can order in advance cakes and tarts for any special event or wish. The personnel has been trained and know how to avoid cross contamination with gluten. Besides it has a tea room available on the first floor and if there is sun you can sit outside as I did 🙂
