I couldn’t leave Brussels without making a stop at Pierre Marcolini’s chocolate shop. I have been knowing Marcolini for quite a while now. When I lived in Paris for the fist time, in 2004, I did not know that I was celiac and I used to eat and enjoy his sweet creations with no problems.
Yesterday I stepped into his shop at the Sablon square and how happy I felt when I discovered that some of his chocolates are gluten free and that he also makes ice-creams and some pastries that are gluten free as well.

I chose to have the Merveilleux dessert made of meringue, white chocolate, candied apricot, green lemon zest, and vanilla cream. Delicious !

By living in Paris I have known that most macarons have no wheat flour so I asked to try their signature one: the Pierre Marcolini macaron.
A nice blend of dark chocolates from Perù, Ghana and Equador, flavoured with vanilla. So good !
I also had some lovely green tea with coconut. I can say that I did enjoy my afternoon tea :)!
Besides we can choose among a nice selection of chocolates and pralines at Marcolini’s that are naturally gluten free. I loved the hearts, so cheerful and colourful, and they hide a delicious fruit coulis surprise inside.
Love red. Love strawberries !
