My Free Kitchen is a lovely gluten free restaurant, coffee + tea room in Paris that proposes food that is organic, free of gluten and lactose but not of taste!

Delicious gluten free home-made food is always on the menu prepared by Carole that along with her brother Philippe decided to open a spot in Paris where they could delight people with the same food they loved to cook at home and grew up with.
My Free Kitchen is a family business and it means business: every day according to the seasons, the menu changes: Carole loves concocting new recipes from gluten free French quiches, to quinoa salads, from carrot cakes, to blueberry tarts, brownies, apple & cinnamon muffins, fruit crumbles and so much more…My Free Kitchen, healthy food for “gourmands”!
At lunch, there are different formulas you can choose from, here I got one with a very good pumpkin soup with almonds, followed by a gluten free cake made with eggplant, basil and goat cheese. Actually the goat cheese is the only exception on the menu regarding lactose: it is often stated that goat milk is more easy to digest than cow milk so this is the reason why it is there, and I have to say it was so good!
To my biggest surprise, the gluten free cake was airy, soft like I have never tasted it before … gluten free cakes can be very good but also quite heavy sometimes, well this one really takes the cake! One of the best I have ever had.
After I indulged in one of Carole’s sweet creations: a freshly baked kiwi tart with vanilla cream and soya milk, both gluten and lactose free.

To boost my day to the fullest – much work still left to do – I chose a cocktail of red berries by the organic brand Marcel Bio, all fruit is certified organic, and are from Provence, in the South of France. I liked it very much, there was little sugar in it and you could really feel fruit flavour.
Last by not least, at My Free Kitchen there are also some gluten free products that you can buy like Teo&Bia, a newly discovered Italian brand of organic, gluten free, lactose-free cocoa and hazelnut cream. What can I say here… is there something in the world that can be compared to the I-can’t-stop-eating-you creamy nutella-like cream ?!!? I leave you with the answer and, by the way, this one is really special!
