One of my favorite gluten free restaurants in Paris!

This week I went back to one of my favourite spots in Paris, Lula.

Lula is a veggie, organic restaurant with several gluten free and vegan options on the menu. It is located in the rue Saint Maur, in the 11th arrondissement. I personally love this neighbourhood a lot: to the eyes of a foreigner living in Paris like myself, it looks eclectic and authentic at the same time. There are always new spots opening up and sending out good vibes. The old ones have a charm of their own.

It’s been a while since my last time at Lula and I am happy to see again Luciana who founded this restaurant with her sister Natalia. Luciana introduced me to Emilie, the new pastry chef; together they cook fresh food everyday with much energy, fun and love. I can say that it shows, you will see it in your plate and also in the atmosphere, so cosy and homey. I also love the large street windows that let the light coming in from the outside. It is also fun to me to see people passing by in the street. Looking at the others make me discover new things about myself.

Back to my gluten free meal, I opted for a lunch menu which included a hot soup, one main dish and dessert.

The daily soup was with kale, the main dish I chose was the new Lula veggie bowl and the dessert, a yummy pear tart with almonds.

I am not exaggerating one bit when I tell you that I enjoyed each of them; with a special mention to the veggie bowl though that came with quinoa, figues, raisins, kale, salad, walnuts, sesame seeds and a delicious vinaigrette.

When you go, I also suggest you to taste the freshly pressed fuit juices, they are very good and change according the what’s available at the market and to Luciana’s inspiration.

While eating, I met my “table” neighbours, Marine and Laura, and discovered their amazing project Op’n Kitchen. If you don’t know it already I suggest you give it a look. We ended up talking and exchanging about our projects, envisioning future collaborations and opening up to the beautiful possibilities that life can unfold just in front of you, if you are open enough to grab them, I think.

Before leaving Luciana told me that starting from this month, she is proposing an aperitivo on Saturdays that can be also vegan or gluten free. Breakfast is served everyday, from 9 to 11 am, and it includes an açai bowl, a cake, a fresh juice and a hot drink.

My last word….I want taste it soooooooon !
