Les idées à la pelle coffee shop

My dear friend Frédéric made me discover another lovely newly opened gluten free place in Brussels: Les idées à la pelle.

Les idées à la pelle is niched in the beautiful Avenue Louis Bertrand and is the brainchild of Aurélie and Benjamin who wished to open up a spot in Brussels where you could enjoy food that is 100% gluten free, with no possibilities of contamination with gluten.

I went there with Frédéric and Catherine. We set outside. It was sunny and beautiful all around. I had a very good gluten free and vegan butternut soup with gluten free crackers and they enjoyed a nice curry with vegetables, tofu and brown rice, all vegan and gluten free as well.

For dessert, there was chocolate mousse on the menu, yummy! The three of us were happy like children when we ate it. The mousse was prepared by Aurélie and because Thursdays are also vegan, she made it with silky tofu. I have to say it was delicious !

Les idées à la pelle is also an organic shop that sells products both with gluten and gluten free. They are selected with care and I found some interesting brands I didn’t know before. There are also available fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese and so much more.

Besides the avenue Louis Bertrand is one place to visit, full of Art Nouveau buildings made by renown architects.
