Thaï Street Food vegan and gluten free!
I still remember the fist time I stepped in Kapunka Thai restaurant, in the lovely Montorgueil neighbourhood, in Paris.
I was with my dear friend and journalist Alma, from C-sans gluten blog, and we were both so happy to find a menu entirely gluten free, with no worries of cross-contaminations with gluten! Furthermore I love Thai cuisine and was happy to finally eat some that was free of fuzz for me.
Today Kapunka has become a group with 6 restaurants scattered in the city, all specialised in Thai Street Food. It also counts the famous Monsieur K where you can find a more sophisticated Thai Cuisine and one of the most delicious Pad Thaï ever tasted. Here not everything is gluten free, like Kapunka, but there are options that we can enjoy.
Kapunka founder is the exuberant French entrepreneur Emmanuel Raichvarg, who after travelling the world in search of food that could inspire him, came back to Paris with the dream of proposing affordable Thai Food that was synonymous of quality and great taste.
He chose to propose everything gluten free as back in 2012 there were no 100% gluten free restaurant nowhere to be seen, he was a pioneer and a visionary too.
A week before Christmas, I was invited to taste the newly born in the group: Kapunka Vegan! The first ever 100% gluten free vegan Thai restaurant in Paris! Again…. a pioneer and a visionary 😉
