Italy Gluten free Food Tour with Niepi: Turin
Looking for a great gluten free pastry shop in Turin?!?
The answer is easy to me: La Madia by Loredana Giardina!
La Madia is one of my favourite gluten free pastry shops in Italy and I am happy to show it to Frédérique and Fabien from Niepi magazine on the occasion of our Italy gluten free food tour.
I met Loredana before I started my blog and we bonded immediately. This Sicilian lady decided to move to Turin because she was fond of the renown pastry tradition of the Piemonte region and wanted to learn all about it. One day she decided to use all of her knowledge to make great gluten pastries and La Madia was born! Lorenda started this adventure with her husband Marcos in 2011 and the two are always working together today, supporting each other and splitting the tasks. Loredana is the pastry chef and I think that she is really talented ! I have seen her constantly improving her recipes.
Our favourites were….so hard to choose, for me barely impossible! Here everything is SO good and if you come, you’ll see. Maybe I can really go waoooo for the gluten free chocolate choux or the Italian graffe, a kind of donut that is fried but fluffier. Loredana’s graffe is to die for ! I also love her baci di dama biscuits, how could I not !?! I named this blog after them. My fave since I was little.
