The gluten free pastry shop for gourmets who have not renounced pleasure
Yesterday I headed to Gaté sans gluten: a newly opened pastry shop in Paris Saint Germain des Près neighbourhood. This is definitely good news as today most of the gluten free places are located on the “Rive droite” (that is the right side of La Seine river) and now there is an address also on the “Rive gauche” aka on the left!
I am very “gourmande” and at least once a day, I need to satisfy my sweet tooth. A place like Gaté is heaven to me and the beautiful pastries standing in front of me were not only superb in the way they looked but also so good!
The master behind them is talented pastry chef Sébastien Lenglet whom I got the chance to talk for a while. Sébastien has trained himself as a classic “gluten” pastry chef for years in France and abroad. Then, one day, Emmanuel Grenier, co-founder of Gaté Sans gluten, knocked at his door and challenged him to create delicious gluten free pastries using his know-how. Sébastien accepted immediately and jumped on the boat.
By tasting his pastries I can say that the result is excellent. They are some of the best gluten free pastries that I have ever eaten.
