Chill out, it’s gluten free!

Fougère Café is the new Parisian coffee shop specialised in healthy, organic, fresh, home cooked food, with several vegan and gluten free options on the menu.

We change side of the river then – as today, most of the gluten free places in Paris are located on the Right bank – and we head Left, in beautiful Saint Germain des Près, a few blocks from Le Bon Marché – the chic and hip Parisian shopping mall.

Here we are in Rue du Cherche-Midi, a street that is becoming very interesting lately, gluten free-wise speaking (remember my posts on Apétit, Mimi cave à manger, Glu free to cite a few…).

Fougère Café is so tiny but so lovely: Laurent Daumail and his wife Juliet Lancelot created this coffee shop together; she takes care of the design, and the recipes development while he welcomes the customers in and takes care of them.

On the menu there are gluten free cakes, homemade granola, açai bowl with fresh fruit (very good!), focaccia from the Parisian bakery Chambelland, crackers with grains and spices by renown Café Pinson, and Buddha bowls like the Green one that I enjoyed during lunch a couple of days ago.

The fact that the coffee shop is so small gave the chance to exchange with my neighbour and that was so nice!

The laid-back, welcoming feeling I could sense combined with fresh, tasty food makes this a place I am willing to go back any time soon.
