Candelaria Taqueria Bar

I have to say that when my friend Soraya from Gluten free in Paris wrote an article about Candelaria, a Mexican taqueria bar, all gluten free, in Paris Marais, I was very curious to try it. It makes a real change from the gluten free food I eat daily and I am a big fan of corn, in all of its shapes, colours and forms!

I went there yesterday with my friend Elise  from elise_esthete (I do love her instagram page!) to enjoy an aperitivo together and some nice friends’ catch up.

Actually everything is gluten free on the menu except if something is fried like the fish yesterday. But we could enjoy some great “Chayote” vegetarian tacos. Chayote is a Mexican vegetable that is usually eaten as squash, in salads or cooked. Ours was cooked,  gently spiced, and good! I did enjoy my Mexican drink and also a hot butternut soup that we shared. The place is small and cosy and gets easily crowded. You might want not to get there too late as there is often the line outside. Hidden like a gem there is also the bar, where you can sip cocktails and eat guacamole. Next time, that’s what we will be doing.
