On Sunday I was back again in the beloved Monti neighbourhood in Rome, the sun was shining and the weather was incredibly warm, so nice considering we are in January! My mum and I headed to a restaurant that grabbed my attention some days earlier: Aromaticus. Aromaticus looks to me like a mix of a urban gardening shop along with a restaurant focused on fresh products coming from local farms on the outskirts of Rome. Luca and Francesca opened it together combining their common love for aromatic plants, herbs, sprouts, organic food, and top quality ingredients. On the menu some dishes are naturally gluten free and I was happy to try them.

We had a salad of aromatic herbs, sprouts, fresh and dried fruit. It was crunchy and good. What we did love was the red quinoa served with pumpkin, grilled seeds, tofu and houmous, delicious!

On Sunday it was quite crowded and if you decide to go, it is wise to give them a call and book a table. I just wish I had more time to spend at the shop and get lost in all the plants, tools and planting accessories that they have.
I’ll save it for my next trip to Rome!
