5 Lorette vegetarian restaurant

Last week along with my dear friends Chloe and Ann from Veggie Magnifique, I headed to the beautiful 9th arrondissement in Paris, close to Montmartre, to discover a newly opened vegetarian and gluten free restaurant: 5 Lorette.

5 Lorette is located in the same place where the restaurant Pousse-Pousse used to be. Pousse-Pousse was one of my favourite restaurants in Paris. I was sad to know from Lawrence Aboucaya last summer that she had decided to close her restaurant, it was so good! Imagine how happy I was when Rina, co-founder of 5 Lorette along with her brother Yoakim, told me that not only they have been working with Lawrence for years, but the chef was the same and they have decided to re-invent and update that savoir-faire that in years of hard work has created one of the best vegan, gluten free, raw, vegetarian cuisine that I have ever tasted.

As we were three, we could order and taste three different dishes: Ann went for the buger made of quinoa, the fresh gluten free bun was by Noglu, there were roasted vegetables and salad. Verdict: we loved it!

The other main courses were: “La céréale” with whole rice, buckwheat, quinoa and vegetables, citrus sauce, sunflower seeds and turmeric, and “La crudivore” with a carpaccio made of red beetroot and green apples, azuki galette, salad, kale and sweet potatoes chips, raw caviar.  Everything was fresh and very good.

For dessert, we tasted the orange cake, the roasted pear with vanilla and the raw vegan gluten free chocolate – this was only is worth the trip. To me it is amazing!

I also liked the new design of the restaurant: nice, vibrant and cosy. I enjoyed talking to Rina as well: she is warm, passionate about her work and full of energy. The living proof that you can eat healthy, have pleasure with what you eat,  and feel good about yourself.

Before leaving, Rina told us that soon there will brunch on Sunday…can’t wait to try this one as well. I have a thing or two for a good Sunday brunch with friends!
