My friends Chloe and Ann from Veggie Magnifique told me about 42 Degrés restaurant last time we met and told me to try it as it is one of their favourite vegan restaurants in Paris. Today I decided it was the day and I went there for lunch.
42 Degrés is the first 100% raw and vegan restaurant to open in the city of Paris. Founded in 2014 by Emilia and Fabian, Emilia is from Argentina and Fabian from Normandie, they combined their mutual passion, cultural background and know-how to create a place that is specialised in top quality food, most of it is served raw or dehydrated, never cooked over 42° in order to preserve all of its nutrients and enhance its flavour.
On the menu almost all the options are gluten free.
Emilia told me that she has just found gluten free yeast and she is planning to use it exclusively at the restaurant so that everything will be gluten free and safe from any possible contamination with gluten. That will definitely make many celiac people, including myself, very happy indeed 🙂

At 42 restaurant the menu changes daily and everything is cooked fresh. You can have special formulas to choose and to me they have a good price/quality ratio.
I was happy to try one whole menu which includes 3 courses (entry+main course+dessert).
I started with an entré called “Texture végétale”. I loved how they played with the different textures of carrot, romanesco broccoli and cauliflower: from puré to pickles and crackers, everything was delicious!

As main course I opted for one of 42 specialties: the burger with Portobello mushroom, dehydrated kale chips, salad, home-made vegan mayo and ketchup. The burger was made of dehydrated vegetables and nuts. It was incredibly tasty and fresh.

For dessert I chose a fresh figue tart with pistachio ganache. So yummy!
Emilia tells me that their lemon cheesecake with red berries coulis is also fantastic.
Well, so many nice things left to try next time I go.
Before leaving I thanked Emilia who, along with the food she brings you, transmits you her passion and love for what she does.
The food at 42 Degrés is definitely Emilia and Fabian.
pS on Sunday there is brunch! I love a good Sunday relaxing brunch, to try any time soon 🙂
