Here I am in Sorrento, in Italy, to spend the Christmas holidays with my family. Whenever I come, I am always for eating some good gluten free pizza. I was born in Naples and pizza is … my favourite food to eat!
This time we headed to a new pizzeria called Paradise in Orta di Atella. The master pizzaiolo is the young and talented Salvatore Lioniello who has won a world championship with the “normal” pizza with gluten in 2014. This evening he’s challenging himself with a gluten free one. I ate a vegetarian pizza with mozzarella, ricotta with curcuma, tomato sauce, eggplant, parmigiano flakes and fresh basil. All the ingredients were fresh and very good. The pizza dough was a bit too heavy and too thick for my taste. The overall experience was more than fine and I am sure that more and better gluten free pizza will come, Salvatore is really talented.
By the way Salvatore is vegan and he is specialised in vegan pizza. Soon there will be a whole menu devoted to vegan food.
